Our licensed Speech/Language Pathologists are experts in communication. They provide one-on-one intervention services for students needing speech, language, or cognitive therapy.
Our Specialists provide therapy in:
- Speech Sounds - How we say the sounds and put the sounds together
- Language - How well we understand what we hear or read and how we use words to tell others what we are thinking
- Social Communication - How well we follow rules, like taking turns, how to talk to different people, or how close to stand to someone when talking
- Voice - How our voices sound
- Fluency - Also called stuttering, is how well speech flows
- Cognitive Therapy - How well our minds work. Areas of need may involve memory, attention, problem-solving, organization, and other thinking skills.
Besides, addressing communication and language issues, all of our Speech/Language Therapists are trained in phonetic and reading instruction utilizing the Orton-Gillingham Approach. Students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other underlying language concerns, may benefit from working with one of our specialized Speech/Language Pathologists.
